It's Father's Day and let's be honest... most father's do quite a bit for their children, wife & family. But realistically, do they really want that funny t-shirt or coffee mug? Chances are probably not. They'd probably appreciate a day to relax, and not have to worry about fixing a tire, looking at the car, or checking anything off the "honey do" list.

To take a bit of guess work out of trying to figure out what to get dad for Father's Day, we have narrowed it down to the top 5 things your father would really appreciate for Father's Day.

1. Fill Up His Tank

We know this one all too well. Dad usually takes your car for a hot minute & magically it comes back with a full tank. Huh... wonder how that happened? Dad knows, because dad filled it up. Do him a solid today and borrow the truck and fill it up for him. Just make sure you put the right kind of petro in there. We don't need to create a new "project" for him to do later.

2. Clean the Grill or Smoker

Yes, it's a pretty well known fact that the man of the house typically handles cooking of the meats. Ladies, don't let that go to your head. We know you're capable too. But more times than not, he will use that as an excuse to hang out in the driveway & talk to his buddies while watching the meat. Give him a break and give the grill a good scrub job when the cooking is done.

3. Organize The Workbench... Or Not?

More times than not, dad is usually tinkering in the garage, and usually fixing your stuff! I'm sure his workbench is probably left in chaos. A great idea would be to organize it for him. Pegboard is a great option to organize those wrenches and power tools that he uses frequently. Coffee cans, baby food jars or canning jars are great for holding different sizes of nuts, bolts, screws, & nails.

Organizing the workbench is a great idea, unless your dad is particular on where he puts his things. Then it's probably a good idea to "help" him organize it, rather than do it yourself.

4. Mow The Yard & Trim The Landscaping

Give dad the day off. We know mowing the yard is something he probably enjoys doing, but let him relax today. Send the kids outside to mow and trim up the yard. They need something to do anyways! Teach them a new skill. Put them to work. Their future family will appreciate it.

5. Wash The Car

Give his car or truck a nice scrub job, and then detail & clean it from inside to out. Let dad ride in style.... for at least a day or two. Ha! If you don't have the means to do it at home, take it over to the local carwash. Most have a vacuum available. And some places you can pay to have them detail it while you wait.
