One of the many great benefits to the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®, is that there are multiple ways to earn miles.

  • Earn 2x miles for every dollar spent on purchases
  • Book travel your way—no airline, seat or hotel restrictions—and redeem your miles for travel statement credits
  • Each time you redeem miles, you will receive 5% miles back to use toward your next redemption

For example, redemptions start at 10,000 miles for travel statement credits and 5,000 miles for cash back statement credits and gift cards. The minimum for account annual fee redemptions within the travel statement credit category is 2,500 miles. You don’t have to wait long, as Redemption Bonus miles are added to your account within one business day after your redemption is processed.

No Foreign Transaction Fee:

A lot of credit cards charge between a 2.5% and 3% fee for purchases made overseas, which can add up quickly. With the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®, there are no foreign transaction fees on any purchases you make while in another country.

Redeeming Miles:

Many travel rewards credit cards don’t offer many options for redeeming rewards. With the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®, you are able to redeem your miles for travel or cash back statement credits, gift cards, and merchandise.

Gift card and Cash back statement credit redemptions start at 5,000 miles for $25. Merchandise redemption values will vary based on what you choose to redeem for.

The best value for redemption is in a travel credit statement. Travel statement credit redemptions start at 10,000 miles for $100 toward a qualifying travel purchase of $100 or more that you made within the last 120 days. Barclaycard has a broad definition of travel that is eligible and includes things such as limousines, airlines, hotels and motels, campgrounds, timeshares, taxis, buses, and much more.

For the primary cardholder on the account, redemption can be completed either over the phone or by logging into your account online. Authorized users are only able to redeem miles over the phone.

Miles Restrictions/Forfeiture:

Miles don’t expire and you can continue to earn miles as long as your account is in good standing, active, and open. There are some instances in which one may be restricted from earning miles, redeeming miles, or may be required to forfeit their miles.

Some examples of when an account will be restricted from earning or redeeming:

  • Minimum payment was not made in full or by the due date
  • Account is delinquent
  • Default under your card agreement
  • Fraudulent account activity by primary or authorized user
  • Illegal or Abusive activity under the program

Some examples of when an account will have to forfeit miles:

  • You or Barclaycard closes your account for any reason
  • Account is severely delinquent
  • Default under your card agreement
  • Fraudulent account activity by primary or authorized user
  • Illegal or Abusive activity under the program

If you want a travel credit card with no annual fee or rewards that can be transferred to specific hotel or airline loyalty programs – this card is not for you. However, if you are an avid traveler with excellent credit and want a card that offers multiple ways to earn and redeem rewards, the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® is a solid choice.
